This year we started the new season a little earlier than expected, however this turned out really well with some absolutely fantastic fishing action both to the North and South of Port Blair. The GT's we on the bite and we saw huge boiling schools of bait taking up to 40 fish on single day with the average size being 16-18kgs.

The weather held till the 8th of November when we had a severe tropical cyclone which caused the loss of some fishing days, however it passed South of Port Blair and we rode it out on Havelock Island.

So far this season there have been a lot of quality GT's taken and we hope the trend will continue. We have had some absolute beasts hammer the lures only for the hook not to set. Albert had two consecutive strikes with very large GT only for the hook to pull after a searing run. One popper came back minus hooks and woodwork with only the central wire after a GT strike, difficult to guess the size of the fish though.

Groupers were also hot to trot with some nice double hook ups and a few unstoppable submarines that managed to get back into the rocks with a Dogfight drag on near maximum.

We have not had the chance to do much trolling this season, most of the groups were having too much fun popping. When we did get the chance and the conditions were fine we had some great Wahoo and Spanish Mackerel action which provided constant entertainment as well as made a tasty evening steak. As usual the GT were not far behind and a 35kg plus beast gave Vidur a severe workout on 30lb class gear for a good half hour before finally giving up.

The brilliant colours of a Wahoo boat side

Gautam on the right had the GT of life time on his first ever popping trip with us in the Andaman's, having trolling for Marlin as his experience with big game fishing he soon caught onto the visually appealing aspect of popping and had a 45kg fish on third day of his first trip. Some people have all the luck!!
